EREBUS

Synopsis

Failing to reach an agreement, the world's major powers were unable to limit human activity despite the imminent threat of ecological catastrophe.

A century later: the vast majority of Homo sapiens have returned to live in the wild, while a few major cities, such as Rennes and Paris, have transformed into city-states. As the last remnants of the old world, these cities strive to preserve civilization by any means necessary.

In contrast, having regressed to a level of civilization somewhere between the Bronze Age and the early Middle Ages, the rest of France is now nothing more than a disparate collection of clans and tribes governed solely by the law of the jungle.

Armed with a long staff, a solitary wanderer roams the wild and primitive lands that the last scholars have named Erebus. A tireless traveler, San has been crisscrossing Erebus in search of his people ever since his village was attacked by slave traders from Rennes. During his journey and through his encounters, San comes into possession of microfilms containing forgotten knowledge. Coveted by all, this knowledge could restore civilization to Erebus.

Or destroy humanity forever. San will have to make a choice.
