Au Rythme des Injonctions

During the first lockdown , Astrid Bayiha published a play, Je suis Bizarre (I am Bizarre ). In it, she tells the story of Alix, an intersex child, who questions the necessity of defining their gender.

Astrid then embarked on staging her own words with the actors of her fledgling troupe, Huricáne, while the COVID-19 pandemic became everyone's daily reality. To her struggle as a woman, writer, actress, freelance performer, and mother was added the uncertainty of the pandemic. Although the company had limited resources, rehearsals took place in one of the small salons of the Odéon, generously lent by the theater, even though it, like all others in France, remained closed to the public. The sessions were then punctuated by successive government announcements , casting doubt on the possibility of performing before a live audience. At a time when cinemas, theatres and concert halls are still closed, at a time when cultural life and especially live performance is suspended, at a time when only creation is permitted, Astrid is carrying this project on her shoulders , which she hopes may eventually be presented at the Lavoir Moderne Parisien.
